There's nothing Philadelphia 76ers fans want more right now than a healthy Joel Embiid. But the updates trickling out on his injury status of late aren't exactly encouraging for his return.

The orbital fracture on Joel Embiid's head has affected his vision enough that reports indicate he just started using his cellphone again.

Via Yahoo Sports' Chris Haynes, h/t Austin Krell:

Chris Haynes reports in-game that yesterday was the first time Joel Embiid was able to use his phone due to the light created from it.

Says the Sixers will evaluate Embiid upon their return to Philly and go from there.

Considering an NBA arena is filled to the brim with glaring lights shining right above the players on the court, the fact that Joel Embiid was previously bothered by his phone light doesn't sound too promising for a swift return.

Doc Rivers also gave his own update on the Sixers center and the prospects of him playing in Game 3. While he asserted that he isn't completely shutting the door on an Joel Embiid sighting, his conversation with his star player didn't make it seem probably.

Doc Rivers says “I really don’t know” if Joel Embiid will be ready for Game 3. Said he FaceTimed with him today. He believes he hasn’t cleared any of the steps necessary to return.

The Sixers have a must-win game ahead of them in Game 3 as they return to Philly in a 0-2 hole. They'll likely need to find a way to win without Joel Embiid unless something drastic changes in the near future.
