Philadelphia 76ers superstar Ben Simmons is currently one of the top point guards in the league today. That's a fact that not many folks out there will want to (or be able to) argue against. Nevertheless, Sixers head coach Doc Rivers still wants to see more for the 24-year-old, and the veteran shot-caller has pinpointed a specific area in Simmons' game that he wants to develop further.

According to Rivers, Simmons' post-up game is something that he wants to utilize more than they currently have:

At 6-foot-11, Simmons is one of the tallest point guards out there. This is something the Sixers could/should exploit, and Rivers wants to do so by using Simmons more heavily in the paint. It is no secret that the two-time All-Star's outside game leaves a lot to be desired, so while he continues to work on this weakness, he should pose as a more potent threat playing inside.

Simmons has had a so-so start to the 2020-21 campaign. In 11 games played, the former first overall pick is currently putting up averages of 12.3 points (career-low) on 50.0 percent shooting (career-low), to go along with 9.3 rebounds (career-high), 8.o assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.0 blocks (career-high). The scoring may not be there (yet), but Simmons has been contributing for the Sixers across the board.

Simmons and the rest of the Sixers are coming off an extended break after their game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday was postponed due to the fact that Philly was unable to field the league minimum of eight players for that contest. They return to action on Wednesday to battle against an old foe in the Boston Celtics.
