Philadelphia 76ers head coach Brett Brown says the report stating he and Jimmy Butler had a heated exchange during a film session in Portland is “a non story.”

ESPN reported Jimmy Butler challenged Brett Brown about how the coach is using him on offense and that some people in the organization viewed it as Butler being disrespectful.

Brown says Butler would like to be used in more pick and roll plays and that he didn't view the exchange between him and the All-Star swingman in a negative light.

Jimmy Butler has played in 21 games with the Sixers. The four-time All-Star is averaging 18.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game while shooting 46.2 percent from the floor, 38.8 percent from beyond the arc  and 88.2 percent from the free-throw line.

However, there have been times where Butler has been just sitting in the corner on offense and that has reportedly not sat well with him. Butler, who can become a free agent after this season, has a history of having bad relationships in Chicago and Minnesota, so this will be a situation to monitor for the rest of the season.

Philly enters their Saturday matchup with the Dallas Mavericks at 25-14. The Sixers currently have the fourth-best record in the Eastern Conference.
