The Philadelphia 76ers are still looking to fill their vacancy at general manager and are interviewing numerous candidates over the next few weeks. One of the candidates they passed on earlier this summer, though, was former Cleveland Cavaliers general manager David Griffinper Keith Pompey of the Philly Inquirer.

Griffin was reportedly interviewed earlier this summer but was passed over due to the fact that they wanted collaborative decision-making rather than a GM with the final say.

Griffin's resume includes a championship and several NBA Finals appearances. That being said, he made some questionable decisions as GM of the Cavaliers. He handed out some contracts that are still hampering Cleveland's cap flexibility.

It's unclear who the Sixers are going to hire at this point. They passed on a candidate with experience and a championship to his name. Perhaps a younger candidate with less experience would be a better option for a collaborative decision-making process.

One of the younger candidates they're reportedly looking at is Elton Brand, a former Sixer and the current GM of the team's G League affiliate. This would certainly be a different option compared to Griffin. Not to mention, Brand already works within the front office so he would be a seamless fit in terms of understanding the culture.

In the meantime, Brett Brown is assuming the duties of general manager. The Sixers head coach has done this since Bryan Colangelo's departure, and it doesn't look like the team is in any rush to hire a new GM. They are certainly looking for the right guy, but they are taking their time with the process.
