The Philadelphia 76ers are in desperate need of depth, but they don't feel Corey Brewer is the answer.

Even though the 76ers have signed Brewer to a pair of 10-day contracts, they will not be keeping him aboard for the remainder of the season, as his second 10-day contract has expired without their renewal, according to Sixers insider Jon Johnson.

Brewer originally signed with Philadelphia on Jan. 15 and played in seven games, making three starts. During that time, Brewer averaged 7.6 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.7 steals over 20 minutes per game while shooting 40.8 percent from the floor, 28.6 percent from three-point range and 69.2 percent from the free-throw line.

The 32-year-old is well-traveled, as the 76ers represented Brewer's seventh team in his 12-year NBA career.

Brewer, who played his collegiate basketball at the University of Florida, was originally selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves with the seventh overall pick of the 2007 NBA Draft.

However, Brewer was nothing but a disappointment for the Timberwolves, lasting just three-and-a-half seasons with the club before being traded to the Dallas Mavericks.

Brewer has also played for the Denver Nuggets, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers and Oklahoma City Thunder and has actually had two stints in Minnesota, as he returned to the Wolves during the 2013-14 campaign.

The Portland, Tn. native owns career averages of 8.9 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.3 steals across 23.3 minutes a night while making 42.5 percent of his field-goal attempts, 28.3 percent of his three-point tries and 71.3 percent of his foul shots.

Philadelphia currently owns a record of 33-19 and sits in fourth place in the Eastern Conference standings.
