Philadelphia 76ers head coach Brett Brown says small forward Wilson Chandler and power forward Mike Muscala are going to be out for a while with separate injuries, via Kyle Neubeck of The Philly Voice.

Chandler has a hamstring injury which he suffered in the Sixers' preseason opener, while Muscala is dealing with an ankle ailment.

The Sixers acquired Wilson Chandler from the Denver Nuggets in the offseason. Chandler will earn $12.8 million in 2018-19 and become an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2019. The veteran swingman played in 74 regular-season games last year for Denver, and averaged 10.0 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists while shooting 44.5 percent from the field and 35.8 percent from beyond the arc. Brown likes Chandler's versatility on both ends of the floor.

Mike Muscala played for the Atlanta Hawks last season. As part of the three-team trade that sent Carmelo Anthony from the Oklahoma City Thunder to the Hawks, the Sixers acquired Muscala, who averaged 7.6 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 53 regular-season games with Atlanta.

When they are both healthy, Wilson Chandler is the primary backup to Robert Covington at the small forward spot, while Mike Muscala backs up Dario Saric at power forward. The Sixers just can't seem to avoid the injury bug year after year.
