Former Utah Jazz guard Raul Neto has agreed to a deal with the Philadelphia 76ers after being waived by his former team.

As reported by Eric Woodyard of Deseret News.

The 27-year-old Brazilian was the 47th overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft by the Atlanta Hawks. He spent four seasons with the Jazz where he served as the team's third-string point guard and energizer off the bench.

Last season, Neto averaged 5.3 points and 2.5 assists across 12.8 minutes. He shot 46 percent from the field and 33 percent from deep. The Jazz had to waive Neto a few days ago to absorb Mike Conley's contract worth $32,511,623 salary into its cap space.

Prior to the 2018-2019 season, Neto suffered he suffered a right hamstring injury, then missed more games with right thigh soreness, a left groin strain, left hamstring tightness, and left ankle soreness. While working out in California recently, Neto reflected on his injuries in an interview with Deseret News:

“I was working out everywhere I was, but it’s just different. It was tough,” he admitted. “The injuries came in the worst moments, like my ankle right before the playoffs when I was playing well and Coach (Quin Snyder) had confidence in me, so it was just the timing that kind of pissed me off a little bit, but you learn from that. I know that I’m an NBA player, I know that I can play from the time I played last year so now I’ve got to get my body right.”

Now, the 6-foot-1 Neto will join the Sixers' Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid, Al Horford, and Tobias Harris as they gun for that elusive title.
