After being undrafted in 2013, Robert Covington has established himself as a solid contributor for the Philadelphia 76ers. This past season, Covington averaged 12.9 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.0 blocks, and 1.9 assists in 67 games before being ruled out for the remainder of the season with knee soreness and swelling.

With the 2017-18 NBA season less than two months away, Covington plans to be ready for the start of training camp according to Jessica Camerato of CSN Philly:

Covington expects himself to be ready for training camp and be playing meaningful minutes for head coach Brett Brown this season. With Ben Simmons' return from injury and JJ Redick free agency signing, there are expectations Markelle Fultz, Dario Saric, and Joel Embiid will compose the team's starting lineup, with Covington coming off the bench.

Heading into the new season, there is great optimism in Philadelphia. Following years of rebuilding, the Sixers have an extremely talented young core and bench. While it will take time for them to mesh with one another, the playoffs are definitely on the horizon as the East has lost tremendous star power this offseason.
