Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry often makes minced meat out of opposing teams' bigs during defensive switches. Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid, however, is not your typical center and got the better of the two-time NBA MVP in this sequence.

The Sixers hosted Curry and the Warriors at Wells Fargo Arena on Monday. Jojo found himself covering Curry at one point and took on the challenge of staying in front of the shifty guard. Using his speed advantage, the Dubs scorer blew past Embiid and thought he had an easy deuce near the rim.

The 7-foot Cameroonian, however, displayed his freakish agility and stayed with Curry, as he obliterated his left-handed lay-up attempt. Check out Embiid's fine defensive play.

Apart from averaging 30.0 points and 11.1 boards entering the contest versus the Dubs, Joel Embiid has also been swatting 1.4 blocks per game.

To be fair, Stephen Curry usually opts to shake his defenders with multiple crossovers before pulling up for threes in these types of scenarios. Driving to the cup against a defensive lynchpin like Embiid is quite the task and Curry paid the price. For sure, he'll be warier of the MVP candidate next time he goes in this deep in the teeth of the Sixers' D.
