In just one week, the Golden State Warriors and Philadelphia 76ers are set to face each other for the second and final time of the 2017-18 NBA season on Nov. 18. While the Warriors limited Joel Embiid in their first matchup (12 points and seven rebounds in 25 minutes), he destroyed the Los Angeles Clippers and Los Angeles Lakers in his last two games.

After combining for 78 points and 31 rebounds against the two Los Angeles teams, head coach Steve Kerr had the perfect word to describe the former third overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft according to Anthony Slater of The Athletic:

When healthy, Embiid has shown he is one of the league's rising stars, averaging 23.0 points, 11.2 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.9 blocks in 29.0 minutes. After missing significant time due to injury, there will continue to be concerns about his durability, but the Sixers have been closely monitoring his minutes.

As the Warriors are looking to win their third championship in four consecutive NBA Finals appearances, the Sixers are currently on the rise after years of rebuilding. While Philadelphia is a couple years away from reaching their true potential, it provides basketball fans an exciting matchup between the present and the future of the league.
