The Philadelphia 76ers are going to be shorthanded for at least the next couple of weeks. The 76ers star center Joel Embiid suffered a concussion and an orbital fracture on the left eye that is going to require surgery.

According to Zach Lowe of ESPN, if everything is successful with the surgery, he could return in two to four weeks. The playoffs begin on April 14th and the 76ers have their spot clinched so depending on the healing, he could miss at least a little bit of the first round series.

The 76ers are going to really miss Embiid while he's out not just because of his play on the court, but also because of his personality and him being a great locker room guy.

Another good 76ers locker room guy, TJ McConnell paid a bit of a tribute to the 76ers big man on Friday wearing a shirt that has the old 76ers logo on it, but instead of saying 76ers, it says Embiid.

Maybe McConnell is on to something here. If Embiid keeps dominating the way he has and can bring a couple of championships to the city, maybe they will have to be renamed the Philadelphia Embiid's.

For McConnell last year, he was a huge part of the team but he has seen his role on the team really decrease this year. After starting 51 games last year, he has only started one of them this year which has also meant a decrease in minutes.

He is averaging 23.3 minutes per game this year averaging 6.4 points per game. He also hasn't been playing much point guard this year instead playing shooting guard just so they can find some sort of minutes for him.
