Former Philadelphia 76ers player Trevor Booker was involved in a trade that sent him to the 76ers from Brooklyn for Jahlil Okafor, Nick Stauskas and a 2018 second-round pick. But just two months after that, he moved on after receiving a buyout.

Players often seek buyouts when things aren't working out with their current teams, and often times it's players that were involved in a recent trade that get bought out in order to have a better opportunity elsewhere.

That's exactly what happened with Booker, who saw the writing on the wall soon after he joined Philadelphia, per Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer.

“Honestly, no disrespect to them, but I was pretty excited,” he said of his reaction to getting bought out. “Of course, I was going to miss my teammates and everybody. But I was excited for a new opportunity. I feel like it just really didn’t fit in well here.”

Now Booker is a member of the Indiana Pacers, a team that has surprised everyone and is now the third seed in the Eastern Conference. He's much happier there, per Pompey.

“I can set more ball screens, push the ball up the court a little bit,” Booker said. “I just feel a little bit more free.”

Booker is averaging 6.5 points and 4.7 rebounds on the season. He has played four games with the Pacers after playing 33 with the 76ers and only 18 with the Nets.

Although Booker has made the NBA rounds this season and will be an unrestricted free agent this summer, perhaps he can find a home in Indiana. It's a good team that could use a veteran like Booker to give them meaningful minutes when he's called upon. He currently averages 17 minutes per game with the Pacers.
