Philadelphia 76ers point guard Trey Burke says he's “built for a Philly type city.” The new Sixers guard signed a one-year deal worth $2.03 million with Philadelphia this summer after playing for the New York Knicks and Dallas Mavericks last season.

Trey Burke began his NBA career with the Utah Jazz back in 2013 after being selected with the ninth overall pick out of the University of Michigan. The Sixers lost T.J. McConnell in free agency to the Indiana Pacers this offseason, so they needed a backup point guard for All-Star Ben Simmons.

Burke has played for the Jazz, Washington Wizards, Knicks and Mavs. He has career averages of 10.9 points, 2.1 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 361 games while shooting 40.8 percent from the field, 34.0 percent from beyond the arc and 80.0 percent from the free-throw line.

The Sixers remain title contenders after signing Al Horford in free agency and acquiring Josh Richardson from the Miami Heat in the Jimmy Butler sign-and-trade deal.

Philadelphia's projected starting lineup for next season is Ben Simmons, Josh Richardson, Tobias Harris, Al Horford and Joel Embiid. Burke, meanwhile, is expected to run Philly's offense when Simmons is on the bench getting a breather.

For Philly to win it all, they will need guys like Burke, Mike Scott, James Ennis III and Zhaire Smith to be productive off the bench, especially once the playoffs start.
