All eyes were on Philadelphia for Sunday’s match-up between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Los Angeles Lakers. For the first time, LeBron James came to Sixers’ home donning the purple and gold and the intensity was cranked up to 11 by all those involved, including the social media teams for both clubs’ Twitter handles.

After the Lakers posted a rather docile quick clip of James having his teammates’ backs …

… it appears that the Sixers took note and saved it for their memory bank when the time was right.

The next logical question after such social media savagery is: When do these two teams play again!? Unfortunately, unless they lock horns in the NBA Finals, it won’t be until the 2019-20 season when elite-level trolling such as this has long been forgotten.

Nonetheless, this seems to be the level of camaraderie the Lakers will need over the final two months of the season to secure a playoff spot. It’s especially encouraging in light of the fact that brother LeBron nearly was almost opponent LeBron for many guys on the Lakers following a chaotic Trade Deadline that featured many of their names being discussed in prospective deals. With a handful of youngsters sprinkled on the Los Angeles roster, James was establishing his hierarchy, attempting to lead a new group to the postseason for the first time in many of their careers.

There’s little harm in the handy work from the Sixers’ Twitter folks. It likely will get a nod of the cap from the Lakers, should they come across it.
