Philadelphia 76ers small forward Wilson Chandler is still out with the hamstring injury he suffered in the first game of the preseason.

On Monday, Sixers head coach Brett Brown told reporters that Chandler wasn't “that far off” from making his regular-season debut. Chandler still has some rehab stuff to do.

The Sixers acquired Wilson Chandler from the Denver Nuggets during the offseason. Chandler is making $12.8 million this season and will become an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2019.

Chandler played in 74 regular-season games for Denver last year and averaged 10.0 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game. The veteran swingman shot 44.5 percent from the field, 35.8 percent from beyond the arc and 77.2 percent from the free-throw line.

The Sixers traded for Chandler to maintain financial flexibility and reduce their luxury tax bill. Brown said on media day that Chandler would be a key piece to the team this season because of his versatility on both ends of the floor.

For his career, Wilson Chandler has averaged 13.5 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 590 games with the New York Knicks and Nuggets. Once he is cleared by team doctors to play, Chandler will come off the Sixers’ bench and back up starter Robert Covington at the small forward spot.
