With the Tokyo Olympics in the books, Damian Lillard can return his focus on his future in the NBA. As of now, he's still a member of the Portland Trail Blazers. But of course, rumors have been ripe over the past few months that he could land elsewhere in the offseason.

Lillard is arguably the biggest name being included in whispers around the league. He is a guy who can almost single-handedly carry a squad. Not to mention create iconic moments because of his clutch performances.

The Philadelphia 76ers are reportedly hot on the heels of Lillard, and according to The Athletic's Derek Bodner, the possibility of a deal isn't too far-fetched anymore:

“With two major contenders off the board, and with Lillard’s eventual dissatisfaction with the Blazers’ chances entirely predictable, the Sixers’ position to land Lillard has grown stronger. And considerably so.”

The two major contenders Bodner was referring to were the New York Knicks and Miami Heat, who already signed Kemba Walker and Kyle Lowry, respectively. The swift moves of other teams have sort of left Lillard in the cold, as the Trail Blazers have largely stayed pat.

Lillard joining the Sixers has also sounded more feasible with the recent developments involving Ben Simmons. The embattled guard has allegedly decided to cut off any form of communication with the team, opening up a door perhaps for Dame Time.

Damian Lillard teaming up with behemoth Joel Embiid sounds like a scary proposition for the rest of the NBA.
