The Ben Simmons debacle with the Philadelphia Sixers happened to be the biggest form of entertainment in the league for quite some time, and it hasn't stopped. After a humiliating playoff series against the Atlanta Hawks where the basketball world saw Simmons' historically poor free throw percentage, the guard's future in Philadelphia was in serious jeopardy. The disgruntled star officially demanded a trade on August 31, and the two sides have not been able to come to a complete agreement.

Simmons' trade value is already low for a plethora of reasons, whether it be his recent playoff struggles, teams around the league knowing that he doesn't want to be there, or his lack of improvement (shooting wise) since his rookie year. Additionally, the Sixers' demand for Simmons is extremely high, making it harder for deals to go through.

The LSU product's value may have dropped even more after executives around the league saw the Sixers play without him this season. At the start of the season, with cemented star Joel Embiid leading the team, the Sixers were sitting at the top of the Eastern Conference with a record of 8-2. Embiid's five-game absence has caused the Sixers to fall into a five game losing streak. This is typically what happens when a star is unavailable and not playing. However, without Simmons, the Sixers not only thrived with Embiid, but arguably could have been even better without him, dropping his trade value even more, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype based on convos with executives.

Ben Simmons truly seems to have played his last game for the Philadelphia Sixers. Seeing where he lands next, or if he ever plays again this season, will be a huge question for basketball fans.
