The Philadelphia 76ers, along with the entire NBA, probably have interest in acquiring New Orleans Pelicans superstar big man Anthony Davis should he become available via trade, but Klutch Sports' representation of Sixers point-forward Ben Simmons could complicate trade talks between the two teams, according to Zach Lowe of ESPN.

Both Ben Simmons and Anthony Davis are represented by agent Rich Paul of Klutch Sports. If the Pelicans were to trade Davis and the Sixers got on the phone with them, New Orleans would definitely ask for Simmons to be part of the trade package, which could make things a bit awkward for Rich Paul.

Anthony Davis can become an unrestricted free agent during the summer of 2020. The Pelicans can offer AD the supermax extension after this season ends. If Davis turns that extension down, New Orleans might have to consider trading him because it can't afford to lose Davis for nothing in free agency.

Ben Simmons is still on his rookie contract with Philly. The reigning Rookie of the Year will become a restricted free agent in 2020 if he doesn't sign a rookie scale extension before then. Philly isn't going to move Joel Embiid since he's a superstar big man and locked up for the future. If the Sixers want Anthony Davis, they are going to have to part ways with Ben Simmons, putting Rich Paul in a tough spot.
