The Philadelphia 76ers are in the midst of a very important offseason that will have major implications for the franchise for their foreseeable future. The first domino has already fallen in the form of the firing of long-term head coach Brett Brown, and it appears that at this point, the Sixers are anything but done.

According to reports, Philadelphia's brass are now looking at the possibility of revamping their front office. This rumor places current general manager Elton Brand in a rather awkward situation, with his job security now seemingly uncertain.

Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer report that the Sixers already have a shortlist of potential candidates, and that a major shakeup might be forthcoming:

League sources have said the Sixers are inquiring about the possibility of hiring a president of basketball operations.

One source said that Portland Trail Blazers president of basketball operations/ general manager Neil Olshey might have some interest in the Sixers, but that’s only if he has total power, as the president and general manager.

Danny Ferry, the current general manager and president of basketball operations for the Atlanta Hawks is also reportedly being considered, and so are Daryl Morey of the Houston Rockets and Kevin Pritchard of the Indiana Pacers.

Finally, Golden State Warriors GM Bob Myers is also being linked with the Sixers, but it appears that Philly understand how the Dubs president is out of their reach.

They also denied that they were planning to take another run at Myers. That would not have mattered, anyway. The Golden State Warriors president of basketball operations and general manager isn’t interested in coming to Philadelphia, according to sources.

Ultimately, Philadelphia might end up retaining Brand's services. Nevertheless, what cannot be denied is that major changes are brewing following another disappointing Sixers campaign.
