The Philadelphia 76ers have one of the youngest and most promising cores in the NBA. The Sixers' Jimmy Butler, Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons make up a trio that may be matched only by the Golden State Warriors.

On Friday evening against the Indiana Pacers, the squad started to show off again. Off an offensive rebound, Ben Simmons threw in a lightning-quick pass to Joel Embiid who then finished with a one-hand slam.

Here's another angle of the beauty of a pass Simmons got off to Embiid in time for a dunk:

Simmons and Embiid were already an elite duo themselves before the Sixers' front office decided to take a gamble on Jimmy Butler.

Simmons has some of the best court vision in the entire NBA and his playmaking is unheralded. His ability to quickly get to the basket with ease has been showcased since his rookie season. He has this athletic layup package that allows him to dominate any guard, wing or big inside.

Simmons, prior to the Pacers game, is averaging a near triple-double with 15.6 points, 9 rebounds, and 7.8 assists while shooting 57.8 percent from the field.

That pick-and-roll with Embiid just causes even more of a problem for teams. Embiid is able to roll, post up for an easy hook shot, pop back out and hit a jumper or even sometimes hit a 3-pointer. Embiid's offensive versatility as a rim-protector makes him so valuable and likely the best center in the whole NBA.

Embiid, on the season, is putting up 26.5 points, 13.3 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game while shooting 46.6 percent from the field.

The Sixers currently rank third in the NBA's Eastern Conference.
