The Philadelphia 76ers were looking to capitalize on their Game 1 victory over the Miami Heat by securing home-court advantage before hitting the road. They looked to be well on their way to another impressive victory after a stellar play involving point guard Ben Simmons and power forward Dario Saric.

The Heat were able to secure a healthy lead throughout the entire game. They nearly ignited a comeback in the third quarterback with their own “Philly special” after Saric delivered a Nick Foles-esque pass to Simmons for the easy dunk, via NBA on TNT:

The flush helped the Sixers trim the deficit to 10 midway through the third. Although Philadelphia managed to stay within striking distance for most of the second half, they were never able to overcome the stellar performance of Heat guard Dwayne Wade in the 113-103 loss.

Regardless, both Simmons and Saric have proven that the stage is not too big for the promising, young duo. The pair has shouldered the load for the Sixers through the first two games with the absence of center Joel Embiid. Needless to say, Game 2 was no different.

Simmons finished the game with 24 points on an efficient 10-of-17 from the field. He also managed to tack on eight assists, nine rebounds, and two blocks. Meanwhile, Saric registered 23 points albeit on 8-of-21 shooting. However, he made up for it on the defensive end with four steals and a block to go with nine rebounds and three assists. Regardless, the two may need to step up their game to a whole new level should Embiid be ruled out for Game 3 in Miami.
