Fresh off signing his massive new contract extension, Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel Embiid finally made his preseason debut against the Brooklyn Nets. Embiid only recently got back on the court after suffering the knee injury which ended his season prematurely in March.

However, it certainly looked like Embiid is back to his best physically, or at least close to it, when he emphatically rejected new Net Allen Crabbe’s layup attempt. Bleacher Report posted a video of Joel Embiid's first highlight reel play of the year.

It was certainly an encouraging sight to see Embiid showing that his explosiveness is still there after coming back from that knee injury.

Meanwhile, Embiid didn't appear to be too rusty on the offensive end, as videos posted by Michael Gallagher on Twitter showed. It took him less than a minute to get his first bucket with a good looking jumper from the free throw line.

The Sixers center then extended his range out to the 3-point line, although he was only credited with two after stepping on the line.

He also got to work on the post and abused poor Trevor Booker for an and-one.

Joel Embiid had an incredibly productive first half, scoring 20 points on 4-of-8 shooting and 12-of-16 from the line in just 11 minutes, with seven rebounds and that great block on Crabbe. Trust the process indeed.
