The Philadelphia 76ers routed the Milwaukee Bucks on Christmas Day, showing off for their hometown crowd in a statement win against Giannis Antetokounmpo and company. All-Star center Joel Embiid capitalized on the beatdown with a rejection of reigning league MVP Antetokounmpo in the second half (via NBA on ESPN).

The “Greek Freak” had a terrible outing against Embiid, Ben Simmons, and the Sixers, shooting less than 30 percent from the field on the road.

At the same time, Philly hit a record number of 3-pointers on Christmas—knocking down 18 triples and counting. Four of those 3-pointers came from new Sixers wing Josh Richardson and another four via third-year shooting guard Furan Korkmaz.

Both Bucks and Sixers see their competitiveness in the Eastern Conference augmented by Kawhi Leonard's departure from the Toronto Raptors last offseason. The Bucks lost to the Raptors in the conference finals, and Toronto beat the Sixers in the semi-finals.

Embiid and the Sixers should be very content with today's performance against Giannis and Milwaukee.
