During a pickup game in Los Angeles, Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid and Orlando Magic rookie Mo Bamba got matched up in the post. The Sixers center asserts his dominance by backing down the slighter Bamba. Once he gets in the paint, Embiid throws down a two-handed jam and exclaims, “Welcome to the f**kin league.”

This video is so interesting because Bamba is a player cut from the same mold as Embiid. Maybe not off the court, but certainly on the court. A long, athletic big man that can do a variety of things that most guys his size can't. They do all of the things that have always been expected of big men. They can control the paint on defense, post up inside, and rim run in transition. But they can also step outside and knock down shots. Although Kristaps Porzingis is the one who got the nickname “The Unicorn,” Embiid and Bamba are mythical creatures in their own right.

This is just the first of many meetings that Embiid and Bamba will have in the league. The older, more experienced Sixer had the upper hand in this case, but the younger Bamba won't soon forget this. With both big men in the Eastern Conference, we're sure to see some future grudge matches between the two.

Embiid has absolutely no problem welcoming rookies into the NBA. On draft night, he welcomed the first overall pick, DeAndre Ayton with a tweet about his defense. And now he's just dunking on Mo Bamba in a pickup game. Embiid never stops being entertaining.
