Oh, my goodness. That was thrown down with absolute authority. On Sunday night, Philadelphia 76ers star center Joel Embiid brought the hammer down on Oklahoma City Thunder point guard and reigning NBA Most Valuable Player Russell Westbrook.

With the Sixers trailing 13-10 a little more than midway through the first quarter at Chesapeake Energy Arena, Embiid took a pass from star rookie point guard Ben Simmons at the top of the key and attacked the basket.

Westbrook, who tried to draw a charge on Embiid under the basket, was at the wrong end of a vicious one-handed slam dunk that brought him to the ground.

A video of the epic play, which was immediately posted by the NBA official Twitter account, can be viewed below in all of its glory:

Through two quarters, Sunday night's game between OKC and Philly has been quite the slugfest on offense. At halftime, the Sixers led the Thunder by a score of 58-57 with Embiid leading the way. The star center out of Kansas already has 17 points on 6-of-8 shooting to go along with four rebounds and one blocked shot in 18 minutes of action.

If the Sixers are able to power through and get a huge road win in Oklahoma City, they would essentially snap a seven-game Thunder winning streak in the process. Dating back to their Christmas Day game against the Knicks, the Sixers (24-21) continue to be on an absolute tear towards the end of January. Heading into Sunday night's contest, the Sixers have gone 10-3 in their last 13 games.
