Joel Embiid brought the nasty staredown into Lob City, making eye contact with L.A. Clippers star Blake Griffin after crushing a baseline dunk.

Griffin thought about challenging the shot, but upon seeing the 7-footer rise up with such force, just stood aside and watched as his teammates DeAndre Jordan was pump-faked out of his shoes, opening the lane for the second-year center to hammer down.

Embiid had some words for Griffin on his way back on defense, known to be a habitual trash-talker while on the court.

The Process finished with a game-high 32 points, one shy of his career-high, as well as tying his career-high in rebounds with 16 through a 36-minute run on the floor — his highest mark this season.

Having logged his first 30-and-15 outing of his career, the ceiling is still high for the charismatic big man, who hasn't been afraid at staking his claim as one of the best centers in the game.

A nasty staredown on one of the game's best dunkers is only the beginning for Embiid, who has ramped up activity and could soon shed all sorts of limitations on his playing time and appearances with the team.
