Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel Embiid is apparently ready for the season to begin and is already claiming victories in battle, even if it is only preseason.

During Friday night's match against the Miami Heat, Embiid took on one of the league's best defensive big men in Hassan Whiteside. The Sixers weren't afraid to take the offense to him as they pounded the ball inside for Joel Embiid to work his magic, and it turned out to be a great strategy.

Hassan Whiteside became physical and got himself into foul trouble early in the first quarter. On an attempt to drive to the basket, Whiteside pushed Embiid out of bounds and afterward was called for yet another foul on an attempted rip-through shot by Embiid.

This forced the Heat to remove their center from the game as Embiid stood to his feet taunting the Heat bench to get him out of the game, saying “he can't guard me.”

Hassan Whiteside proceeded to the bench laughing. While he did issue a couple of hard fouls, he didn't take it too seriously knowing that it's a preseason exhibition game but at least seemed to enjoy his opponent's antics in the moment.

Joel Embiid finished the game scoring 5 points on 1-of-7 shooting and seven rebounds in 15 minutes of action. But that's not all, the exchange between the two titans spilled over social media.

While Hassan Whiteside may have owned Snapchat for his hilarious videos throughout the offseason, Twitter is Joel Embiid's realm, as exhibited by the Sixers center. All these are preseason shenanigans, but they definitely set up a much-hyped encounter between Whiteside and Embiid when the Heat and Sixers meet up in the regular season.
