It's no secret that Markelle Fultz's jumper is in a weird place, but fans got another look at his awkward pump fake shot in the background of a Jimmy Butler interview during shootaround. Fultz can be seen hesitating before his release, and it doesn't look pretty:
The ugly shooting form is juxtaposed with Butler's interview, which almost feels like a metaphor for what is coming if Fultz can't fix his shot. Butler is notoriously tough on his teammates, and it's unclear how he will approach his new teammate who has had issues with his shot.
Fultz is already losing his spot in the starting rotation. Butler is saying all the right things, but only time will tell how things shake out in Philadelphia. Butler isn't the easiest teammate to play with. He's demanding of his teammates, an approach that may not work with a young guy experiencing a mental funk. Fultz's issues won't disappear in a flash because Jimmy Butler starts pushing him harder. That just doesn't seem likely.
Brett Brown will have his hands full going forward, and Fultz's shot is one of the biggest issues facing the Philadelphia 76ers this season.
