The Wells Fargo crowd showered TJ McConnell with a standing ovation as he entered the floor tonight. McConnell immediately went to coach Brett Brown and the two shared a warm embrace. He finished his night with six points, two rebounds, and three assists in 11 minutes.

McConnell had become a fan favorite in the City of Brotherly Love through his tenure with the franchise. Sixers fans loved his toughness and hustle whenever he stepped on the floor.

In his four seasons in Philly, McConnell averaged 6.4 points, 2.9 rebounds, 4.7 assists, and 1.2 steals across 314 outings – including 72 starts – with the Sixers.

The undrafted guard out of Arizona had been with Philadelphia through the good and the bad. He was there in the 2015-16 season when the Sixers won just 10 games and finished in the bottom of the league standings.

McConnell, a Pittsburgh native, also saw the rise of the Philly empire and the heights that it eventually reached last season when it came just a bounce and an extra five minutes away from reaching the Eastern Conference Finals.

McConnell moved on from Philadelphia this past summer when he signed a two-year $7-million deal with the Pacers. Prior to tonight, McConnell is averaging 7.1 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 4.8 assists across 17.8 minutes per game off the Pacers bench.
