Basketball is a highly physical game where nasty injuries can occur at any given moment. Another one happened with less than three minutes to go during the game between the Philadelphia 76ers and Chicago Bulls on Wednesday.

After a foul was called on the Bulls' end of the floor, there was a stoppage in the action which allowed Trevor Booker to slowly walk to their bench. He then flashed the dislocated finger he suffered to the referee, which his teammates also saw. Joel Embiid and Robert Covington's reactions say it all as they weren't prepared to see his finger like that. He immediately went straight to the locker room together with the team's trainers.

The exact extent of the injury is still unknown, but it was very obvious that his finger was indeed dislocated as it was not straight anymore. Tests are expected to be done on Booker to find out what needs to be done in order for him to recover from it quickly.

Booker landed with the 76ers earlier this season as part of the deal that sent Jahlil Okafor to the Brooklyn Nets. He has continued to see action on the court, but his role has understandably diminished now with the plethora of young and talented big men his new team has.

For what it's worth, the 30-year-old Clemson product may find some relief despite his painful injury as the Sixers won on the night in a blowout, 115-101. Joel Embiid had another solid performance with 22 points, five rebounds, three assists and two blocks. Booker saw 17 minutes of action and scored six points to go with five rebounds of his own.
