The Chicago Sky bagged their first title in franchise history on Sunday after an epic win over Diana Taurasi and the Phoenix Mercury. It was also an understandably emotional moment for Candace Parker, who herself is currently playing in her first season for Chicago.

The 35-year-old veteran turned in a vintage performance on Sunday, logging a 16-point, 13-rebound double-double in perhaps the most important game of her career. Parker also came up big for Chicago in the clutch as they overturned a big Mercury lead in the dying minutes of Game 4 of the WNBA Finals. Unsurprisingly, Candace Parker was extremely emotional after the victory.

Parker nearly broke into tears while the game was still going on. The Sky were on the brink of the title and Parker already knew:

As soon as the final buzzer sounded, Parker rushed to hug her family sitting courtside. It was an extremely emotional moment for the six-time All-Star and she wanted to share it with the most important people in her life:

At that point, Candace Parker could no longer hold back the tears ā€” and she absolutely did not have to.

Parker also had a special shout out to all the Chicago Sky fans that came to support their squad not only on the evening but throughout their historic campaign as well:

Parker, a two-time league MVP, has had an outstanding career in the WNBA. The former first overall pick never won one title with the Los Angeles Sparks in 13 memorable seasons. Well, she just doubled her tally on Sunday in what was truly a momentous occasion for both Candance Parker and the Chicago Sky.
