With Skyrim Anniversary Edition set for release in November, Bethesda Game Studios is teasing fans bit by bit about what to expect with the upcoming title. As revealed through Twitter, players can add an aquarium and fish to their Hearthfire homes. In the grand scheme of things, it may not ultimately sway you into buying or not buying the popular game yet again, but it's a cosy feature—like a well-known Easter egg—nonetheless.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim turns a whopping 10 years old this 2021. With the release of the Anniversary Edition, Bethesda is banking on fans to be wanting to grab a copy of the award-winning title for a third time. When this edition was first announced, one of the major updates was the new opportunity to go fishing across Skyrim. Besides frying your fresh catch, though, the fish could be friends not food instead.

After all, virtual fish may just be as exciting as having pet fish in real life, without the hassle of cleaning the aquarium or installing filtration systems. Just don't tap on the aquarium glass, though!

It's certainly not meant to be a game-changing addition, but it has a nice feel to it. While the main storyline is all about Dragonborn's quest to defeat Alduin, there's definitely time in the open-world setting for some lighter things like placing an aquarium in your winter lodge.

Skyrim Anniversary Edition is set to drop on November 11, right on the game's 10th anniversary. The older Special Edition, meanwhile, will also be getting the fishing and fishtanks update so fans won't have to fret over that feature if they decide against buying the upcoming edition.
