SNK delivered its promises to its fans. The fighting game developer launched The King of Fighters 2002 Unlimted Match for the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation 5. The classic entry in the KOF series features a total of 66 playable characters. Additionally, SNK updated certain game mechanics and fighter abilities for better game balance.

King of Fighters, Reborn

The ports for the PS4 and PS5 boasts a fully-working online match system. Fans returning to the beloved fighting game title will soon test their mettle against each other in pitted online combat. The game can be bought on the PlayStation Store for USD 14.99.

KOF fans celebrated the release of the game on the PlayStation platform. However, some clamored for SNK to release the title on all platforms. Currently, Players looking to play classic KOF can pick up the title on the Steam storefront. SNK made no comment regarding the future potential ports of its titles for other platforms.

Undoubtedly, Nostalgia plays a big part in the resurgence of classic titles. Players flock towards their old beloved games for a reason. They're not simply meant as vehicles to relive past gaming lives, they deserve to be played on current hardware.

Pick up the classic Neo Geo King of Fighters title for yourself on any Sony PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 platform.
