Paramount Pictures' sequel to the successful live-action adaptation of Sonic the Hedgehog is no longer a secret. With that being said, there's also no more point in keeping a lot of details about the film a secret. During The Game Awards 2021, Paramount Pictures used the platform for a new World Premiere. In the latest Sonic the Hedgehog 2 movie trailer, we've finally seen Sonic's allies join in on the fun: Tails and Knuckles.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has new trailer showed us glimpses of Tails and Knuckles, two well-known allies of Sonic. They are, once again, up against Dr. Robotnik, played by comedian Jim Carrey. However, it seems like Sonic will have to beat Knuckles first before he can call him his ally in this film, as we see the two trading fists in the trailer.

This confirms the previous rumors that Knuckles will be voiced none other than by Idris Elba. Tails, meanwhile, will be voiced by Colleen O'Shaughnessey, the same voice actress for Tails in other previous roles and games.

The first Sonic the Hedgehog film was warmly received, with a 6.5 user rating on IMDb. It was also a commercial success, raking in $319.7 million through the box office. These two were reasons enough for Paramount Pictures to go for a second go. Fans do love this new film series, especially since the animators did everything they could to change up Sonic's original horrendous design, to the one we have today.
