Sony has announced today that their live stream series “State of Play” will be returning this March of 2022. As stated in a blog post over at the official Playstation Blog, the live stream will be showcasing several new and upcoming PS4 and PS5 titles that will be released this year and into the near future.

The blog post makes a special note that the live stream will have a large focus on upcoming titles that are being produced by several Japanese publishers, while also mentioning that a few updates from their global partners will be showcased, as well. Unfortunately, there will not be any updates regarding Playstation VR2 titles, or the Playstation VR2 hardware, which currently does not have a set release date beyond being released sometime in 2022.

While there are currently no leaks on what could be shown off during the live stream, many PlayStation fans are hoping to learn about new details such as the rumored Resident Evil 4 remake, more details on Final Fantasy XVI, and many other titles. And despite the lives stream being focused on Japanese titles, that hasn't stopped Playstation fans from hoping and expecting new details on other western developed titles such as God of War: Ragnarok, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, and rumors of a new Sly Cooper game.

It's really up in the air with what fans can expect, but one thing is for sure: the live stream is going to set the pace for how dominant Sony and its partners will be planning out for the rest of 2022. And hopefully, this live stream will also showcase how much Sony cares about their Japanese partners, as public opinion of Sony Computer Entertainment's shift towards western developers has been considered to be somewhat of a detriment to their brand.

Sony's State of Play will be live-streamed at 2 PM Pacific / 5 PM Eastern / 11:00 PM CET. Users will be able to catch the live stream over at Twitch.TV as well as Youtube.
