Thinking like college. If you’re there, you just stay there. … To be honest, I forgot I could be traded. That’s why. I wasn’t even thinking about it.”</blockquote><p>To be fair to Langford, Celtics head coach Brad Stevens did not talk to his young players ahead of the deadline because he knew the chances of a trade actually happening seemed slim and because he knew they were probably already aware of what <i>could</i> potentially occur:</p><blockquote>“We got a lot of people talking to them all the time about everything,” Stevens said. “So somewhere along the line, I’m sure they heard good stuff. I’m sure Danny does. I didn’t anticipate much. The most recent victim—or beneficiary— was lottery pick Romeo Langford, who was taken at #14 overall by the team in the 2019 NBA Draft. Though Langford came in as a vaunted high school recruit who put up big numbers in college, he still must deal with pranks and rookie duties – the most recent one courtesy of jovial prankster Marcus Smart.</p><p>Smart posed as a Chipotle manager in order to “get” Langford with this one, as the other Chipotle workers pretended that Smart had ordered $4,500 worth of the food for the entire Celtics organization.
