Only a few weeks before the training camp of the San Antonio Spurs opens, Dejounte Murray understands that he needs to be in great shape ahead of it as he is set to see an increased role with his team. With Tony Parker still recovering from his injury, it leaves Patty Mills as the undisputed starter, with the backup role to be contested by him and Bryn Forbes.

That said, the incoming second year player out of Washington is already putting in a lot of work in the gym to improve his conditioning. He also shared via his Twitter account a photo of him with his veteran teammate Manu Ginobili.

Dejounte Murray certainly did well in choosing his training partner, as he will definitely learn a lot from Manu Ginobili, who is entering his 16th season in the league. The latter is widely considered as one of the most successful international players to ever play in the NBA. The 40-year-old Argentinian has won four championships with the Spurs and has spent his entire NBA career with the franchise. Despite his advanced age, Manu Ginobili continues to provide the Spurs with quality minutes off the bench, while also serving as their veteran locker room leader.

Last year, Murray only suited up in 38 games for the Spurs, as he also had multiple assignments with the Austin Toros to gain more experience. If he can put into heart all the lessons he can get from his veteran teammate, there will be no doubt that he will have a distinct advantage over Forbes as they vie for rotation minutes under Gregg Popovich.
