After seeing teams make moves to improve their roster, the San Antonio Spurs also appear to be following suit and has reportedly been trying to take a big step in adding more talent.

News emerged that they have been shopping their starting power forward, LaMarcus Aldridge, to teams who own one of the top-five picks this year, with the hopes of bringing in a young and talented player from the deep pool of talent in this year's draft.

Despite having another solid campaign this past season, the five-time All-Star has failed to make a huge impact for the Spurs, especially in the playoffs. His average of 17.3 points and 7.3 rebounds are both lower than what he had from the previous season, and playing alongside Pau Gasol in the frontcourt has not paid dividends for their team.

With the draft already scheduled on Thursday night, the Spurs will be hard-pressed to find a trade partner willing to add a 31-year-old to their lineup instead of a promising prospect. However, a development has also surfaced that the Sacramento Kings, who own the fifth and 10th picks, are interested in Aldridge and could be making a move for him soon.

Stranger things have happened in the league in the past, and with the savvy that the Spurs’ front office has, it won’t be a surprise if they can pull off a deal given the situation, and once again shock a lot of people in the NBA community.
