The San Antonio Spurs may have lost to the Houston Rockets on Saturday night, but not before becoming the first team to win five games by at least 25 points over a six-game span, according to Justin Kubatko of StatMuse.

Prior to their loss to the Rockets, the Spurs had beaten the likes of the Phoenix Suns, L.A. Clippers, Philadelphia 76ers, Orlando Magic, and the Minnesota Timberwolves by an average of 31 points per game from Dec. 11 through Dec. 21.

Oddly enough, sandwiched in between that slew of massive victories was a three-point home loss to the Chicago Bulls.

In what was looking like a very disappointing season, the Spurs have rebounded, working themselves back into the Western Conference playoff picture and demonstrating just what they are capable of offensively.

Also, each of San Antonio's last eight wins and 10 of its last 11 victories overall have come by double figures.

Those are the types of numbers we saw during the Spurs' reign of offensive dominance in 2014 and 2015 when Tim Duncan was still around and Kawhi Leonard was turning into a superstar before our eyes.

The question is, is this current run of superiority sustainable?

It doesn't seem like it. After all, top to bottom, the Spurs are not an incredibly talented team, especially taking into consideration the fact that Dejounte Murray is out for the season with a torn ACL.

Still, it is definitely an encouraging sign for a San Antonio ballclub that appeared to be reeling after an 11-14 start.

The Spurs will play host to the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday.
