The San Antonio Spurs may have suffered a blowout loss to the the Brooklyn Nets on Friday, but it is not without any positive thanks to Dejounte Murray.

Murray kept the Spurs afloat for much of the contest before the Nets ran away in the fourth quarter. He recorded a triple-double of 25 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists to get San Antonio trading blows against Kyrie Irving, James Harden and the rest of Brooklyn.

In the process, however, Murray also made Spurs history as only the second player in franchise history to record a triple-double in back-to-back games. The only other player to do so is David Robinson, who accomplished it in two different occasions with the team, per ESPN Stats & Info.

Murray also posted a triple-double stat line of 23 points, 1o rebounds and 14 assists during Wednesday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Indeed, not even Spurs icon Tim Duncan was able to accomplish it in his storied career with San Antonio.

While the Spurs continue to struggle as they go on a full rebuild, it is definitely encouraging to see their young players like Dejounte Murray stepping up and developing into true stars in the league. This is exactly what Gregg Popovich has envisioned for the team when they let LaMarcus Aldridge and Patty Mills walk away, and now, they are reaping rewards slowly but surely.

San Antonio still has a lot of work to do before they can return to title contention, but they are certainly walking in the right direction.
