San Antonio Spurs has gone through a turmoil of events last season, with superstar and 2014 Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard forcing his way out of the team. The Spurs granted him his wishes as Leonard was shipped to the Toronto Raptors in exchange for four-time all-star Demar DeRozan.

With that trade, critics and fans have deemed the Spurs to struggle this upcoming season, with some people already thinking that the team will miss out on the playoffs for the first time since drafting franchise cornerstone Tim Duncan in 1997.

But Spurs young point guard Dejounte Murray has other things in mind.

Murray posted this message against the Spurs' critics in his own Instagram stories. The 6-foot-5 guard out of the University of Washington was drafted by the Spurs in the 2016 NBA Draft. Since then, coach Gregg Popovich has viewed Murray as a future starter of the team, something that longtime Spurs starting point guard Tony Parker agreed to.

Murray proved that his coach was on-point by showing glimpses of his all-around game. Last season, Murray averaged a modest 8.1 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.2 steals per game for the Spurs.

This season, Spurs fans will witness the Murray-DeRozan backcourt partnership, a duo that will hopefully extend the Spurs' consecutive postseason appearances streak.
