Dejounte Murray received devastating news on Monday. It was announced that he suffered a torn ACL following a non-contact injury against the Houston Rockets on Sunday night.

But Murray is keeping a positive outlook, and he took to Twitter to thank his fans for their support and declare that he will bounce back from this injury:

This is a huge blow for the San Antonio Spurs this season. Murray was set to start at point guard and his ability to defend on the perimeter set him apart. He made the All-Defensive second team as a 21-year-old last season. His length and athleticism helped him harass opposing point guards last season.

He has yet to put up gaudy statistics in his young career, but his impact goes well beyond the box score. In what was supposed to be his third season, the Spurs were hoping Murray would take a leap offensively while continuing to play stifling defense.

An ACL tear is a major blow to any player's career, but Murray has the benefit of youth on his side. Still only 22 years old, Murray has his entire career in front of him and should be able to make a full recovery.

In the meantime, Patty Mills and Derrick White will take on larger roles. Mills is a seasoned veteran and the longest-tenured Spur on the roster. White, on the other hand, is entering his second year in the league. He played 17 games for the Spurs last season.
