Dejounte Murray of the San Antonio Spurs has been playing like one of the best players in basketball all season. There isn't much out there on the court that he can't do and he even has a great chance to be one of the league's All-Stars.

On the season, Murray is averaging 19.3 points per game, 8.5 rebounds, and 8.9 assists. He has essentially turned into everything that Gregg Popovich loves about a basketball player and he is the perfect fit for the Spurs team.

There have been rumors that the Spurs may opt to move him if they believe they can receive a substantial return for him to help them speed up their rebuilding process.

These are Brian Windhorst's thoughts on Dejounte Murray and his future in San Antonio,

“There’s been some chatter in the league about whether the Spurs would be willing to trade him. Maybe not during the season but next summer.”

It would be questionable for the Spurs to deal him because he is still young and will be one of the league's stars for the next few seasons. Even if they are in the midst of a rebuilding process, he is the ideal player to have on hand to help them overcome their difficulties. He's a guy who could be the first or second choice on a championship team if they ever become contenders again.

It's most likely just a rumor, as the Spurs aren't known for making big trades for their star players. This offseason may be intriguing because there are numerous reports that Gregg Popovich will not return, so possibly this franchise will make some alternative choices in the future.
