San Antonio Spurs newly-acquired superstar, DeMar DeRozan, has posted a cryptic tweet about revenge on his official Twitter account. DeRozan's message seems to be a hint of bad blood against his former team, Toronto Raptors.

It could be recalled that the four-time NBA All-Star did not take lightly how the Raptors went in and about on the trade that shipped him to Texas in exchange for Kawhi Leonard. It could be a matter of how the Raptors front office handled the situation as DeRozan obviously did not expect him to be traded the moment he had an idea of the deal.

There were already hints of anxious moments between DeRozan and the Raptors last year when coach Dwane Casey opted not to field the All-Star during some of the team's playoffs crucial moments. It came to a heightened state when DeRozan was benched for the entire fourth quarter during their Conference Finals Game 3 loss against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

ESPN's Brian Windhorst wrote an article on the said game, mentioning DeRozan's thoughts on the benching.

“It's extremely hard, extremely hard,” DeRozan said. “I just want to be out there helping my team, way more than anything. It definitely sucks to be watching … we've got to give credit to those guys. We fought hard and gave ourselves a chance to win.”

To which, Casey countered with his argument that the All-Star was not on his usual excellent game that night.

“Even when you are not shooting well you can defend and do things to help us win, but those nights are going to happen.”

Still, DeRozan is in for greater challenges this season as the Spurs still look to contend in the stacked Western Conference.
