DeMar DeRozan will be opening a new chapter in his career with the San Antonio Spurs. Recently, he spoke about his new head coach Gregg Popovich in addition to how DeRozan aims to be the leader of the Spurs squad.

DeRozan, 28, who's entering his 10th year in the league, carries with him a ton of postseason experience. Not all of them were good, but simply having that type of battle scars makes him an asset. Coming into the season with a brand new team, he's aiming to impart all the things he's learned to the new guys, per Tom Osborn of the San Antonio Express-News.

“I’m going into my 10th year in the league, so with the knowledge and everything I’ve gained in this league, if I can help the next guy, that’s what it is all about. And I plan to learn from those young guys as well, so I am definitely looking forward to it.

DeRozan, 28 years old, was actually at the final day of the Team USA Minicamp where Popovich was the head coach. He shared that he already talked to his coach but it wasn't necessarily about basketball:

“We talked about a little bit of everything. There will be plenty more talks, but it was cool to just to get a chance to talk to him here (away from the court).”

It's good that DeRozan seems to have moved on from the drama involving his previous team, the Toronto Raptors. It was definitely an ugly separation. But with the Spurs, DeRozan would do alright.
