San Antonio Spurs star DeMar DeRozan oddly compared his performance in crunch time to getting a pineapple first during a postgame interview after they broke the Washington Wizards' eight-game win streak on Monday night. Afterward, he hilariously requested to have a pineapple tee to wear before the summer in reference to the analogy that he used last time around, per JeffGSpursZone.

Indeed, DeRozan managed to get the pineapple first as his team gutted out an overtime battle against the streaking Wizards. On the floor, the Spurs found themselves on a tight encounter against their opponents right from the get-go. The two teams then extended the contest to an extra period but the San Antonio managed to gain the upper hand by way of DeRozan's production in the crucial moments of the game.

The four-time All-Star made nine total points in both the fourth quarter and overtime period to lead the Spurs to a narrow 146-143 victory. DeRozan eventually finished the tilt with a huge double-double of 37 points and 10 rebounds which fended off the impressive production of both Bradley Beal and Russell Westbrook.

Their latest triumph snapped the Wizards' eight-game winning streak as the Spurs improved to a 31-29 record for the ninth spot in the Western Conference. Certainly enough, DeRozan will have to step up even more as his team tries to fight for a playoff spot towards the end of the regular season.

Aside from powering his team to more wins, DeMar DeRozan continues to hope that a good samaritan will also bless him with a pineapple tee that he is raring to get before the summer.
