Golden State Warriors center DeMarcus Cousins is still in the market, but one team — at least the players and its fans — seems interested in signing him.

San Antonio Spurs fans put up a billboard in Texas recruiting Boogie to the Spurs. The perpetrator of this billboard, apparently, is local retailer Arrow Head Outdoor.

The ad was produced not long after news broke that Cousins had been contacted by current Spurs guard DeMar DeRozan with regards to a possible team-up in San Antonio.

It will be interesting to see where Cousins ends up this offseason. There are genuine concerns about Boogie’s health after tearing his Achilles’ tendon in the 2017-18 season and then suffering a quadriceps injury during the 2019 playoffs, so teams are being cautious about his condition and his possible demand.

The Spurs are right on the verge of hitting the salary cap, and Cousisn will certainly require more than a minimum contract — making San Antonio signing him rather prohibitive.

Even beyond that, Cousins doesn’t necessarily seem like a good fit on a Spurs franchise that has long looked for players who will be good “company men” — a term that doesn’t necessarily fit the history of Boogie in the NBA.

Still though, if DeMarcus Cousins can stay healthy next season, he will likely help any team that signs him on the offensive end.
