On Thursday night, Toronto Raptors star Kawhi Leonard made his first appearance at his old stomping grounds following his summer move away from the San Antonio Spurs. He did not have the best of receptions from the home crowd, which did not impress former Spurs guard Brandon Paul one bit:

It is no secret that Leonard did not part on the best of terms with the Spurs, and all the drama that led to his eventual exit is well-documented. Nonetheless, Paul still felt the need to call out the heckling home supporters for what he believes to be unwarranted behavior towards his former teammate.

However, it was the Spurs and their fans left smiling on Thursday, as San Antonio handily defeated Leonard and the Raptors, 125-107. Former Toronto son DeMar DeRozan led the way for the Spurs, notching a 21-point, 14-rebound, 11-assist triple-double against his former squad.

Kawhi was not bad himself on the evening, dropping 21 points on 8-of-13 shooting, along with one rebound, five assists, and two steals in 33 minutes of action.

Leonard did not seem affected by the treatment he was getting from the home crowd.

For his part, Paul played only one season with the Spurs last year. He made 64 appearances for the team, averaging 2.3 points, 1.1 rebounds, 0.6 assists, and 0.4 steals in just 9.0 minutes of action off the bench. He was waived by the Spurs prior to the start of this campaign.
