Gregg Popovich is now in his 24th season with the San Antonio Spurs, which means he now holds the NBA's all-time record for most seasons coaching one franchise.

Pop began his coaching career with the Spurs in 1996, and three years later, he successfully led them to an NBA championship. He went on to win four more in 2003, 2005, 2007, and 2014. Overall, he has a coaching record of 1,245 wins and 575 losses. He's also led the Spurs to a winning record for the 22nd straight season.

The 70-year-old coach is coming off an unsuccessful stint with Team USA in the FIBA World Cup, where they finished seventh in the tournament. Now, he opened the 2019-20 season with a 120-111 win against the New York Knicks.

It is unclear if Popovich has any plans to retire soon. Some reports say that he'll officially call it quits at the end of this season, while others say he'll still give it a go for at least a couple more years. Although he has nothing left to prove and he'll definitely be a Hall of Famer once everything is said and done, Pop wants to keep coaching, probably until his body allows him to.

This season, the Spurs aren't considered as a legitimate title contender, but throughout the years, fans have learned that counting out a team that's coached by Popovich is a huge mistake, Last season, San Antonio took the second-seed Denver Nuggets to a full seven-game series, and although they eventually lost, they still gave one of the best teams in the West a run for their money.

Does Popovich still have a few tricks in his sleeve to help the Spurs win one more title? We'll just have to wait and see.
