The San Antonio Spurs struggled on Tuesday and suffered a heavy 129-102 defeat against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Following the contest, Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich was asked to give his thoughts on the recently concluded matchup, particularly with regards to the outstanding performance of LeBron James on the evening. Coach Pop did not appear to appreciate the line of questioning, and he made sure to make his feelings known to the reporter who asked the question:

James torched the Spurs on Wednesday, finishing with 36 points on 12-of-20 shooting, along with six 3-pointers, seven rebounds, nine assists, a steal, and just two turnovers in 34 minutes of action. LeBron led a furious fourth-quarter run for the Lakers, as they outscored their opponent 42-28 in the final frame. James went on a heater during the run, hitting five 3-pointers in a matter of minutes.

Popovich was in his usually snippy mood, with his tone perhaps turning more sour because of another disappointing loss for his team. The reporter's question did appear to be a valid one, but it obviously did not meet the extremely high standards Pop.

That's now back-to-back losses for San Antonio, and their fifth loss in their last seven games. The Spurs continue to lose their grip on their postseason aspirations with the team now sitting three games outside the playoff picture in a ruthless Western Conference. Coach Pop and his men are in the midst of an extended road trip, and they've now opened it up with two straight defeats. They will hope to get back to winning ways on Thursday in a tough test against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Meanwhile, LeBron and the Lakers are cruising at the top of the Western Conference with a 38-11 record. If the Spurs reach the playoffs, Pop and company will almost certainly be facing the Lakers in the first round.
